- Having been born in a subtropical climate Tyler had never before experienced
snow. So when our local mountains got a sprinkling of snow we thought it would
be the perfect opportunity to see how he would like it. So after a short drive
up Figueroa Mountain (right past Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch!) we parked
in a campgrouand at the top of the mountain and played in the snow. Compared to
the Sierras or places back East the snow fall was nothing to write home about,
but considering we are right in the middle of Santa Barbara County, CA,
renowned for its beaches and mild weather it was almost surreal. Tyler was a
little shy about the white stuff at first, but once he saw Mommy making
snowballs and throwing them around he was intrigued. The only thing he really
didn't like was having to wear his new mittens. He rather would have frozen his
fingers and touched it with his bare hands.
